Unas Tokyo: The Middle Class Kids
A short film by Naman. ( Exhibition copy ).
When Yazeed, Basil, and Yousef wanted to start Unas Tokyo back in 2018, they faced some difficulties to launch the first collection without having enough budget and any connection to manufacturers in Japan.
They had to work with Mr.Silver, an Italian designer based in Tokyo for 4 months as workers in his shop in Tokyo, to learn about the design process and to get manufactury contact and some money to start the first collection.
In these videos, they are moving the valuable furniture and stuff from Mr.Silver’s shop for a new branch, the process took them 72 hours.
For the past 7 years, Yazeed Ahmad has been documenting his life journey through his film cameras.
In this series of photos, Yazeed choose his favorite photos from his archive which has over 2500 photos, of the neighborhoods he lived in for 5 years in Tokyo, Kunitatchi, and his friend Abdurahman ba Adhem in a small village in Japan called iizuna where Yazeed documented his story in his first award-winning short film, to his visits to Saudi and some sights from the city of Tokyo.
